Isn't the human race strange - we all go for entertainment. Don't bore me, interest me. Entertain me, don't educate me, unless you can do it in such a way that it doesn't seem like you're doing it. Don't give me facts and figures - I'm not at work now!
We sit down in front of our pc's at the end of a hard day to play a game/watch a movie/chat on the various social sites. 20 years ago personal computers were just about unheard of. Then computers were used by banks and big corporations. Who would have dreamt then that a mere 2 decades later just about every household would have one - or some, like mine, for instance would sport no less than 3 desk top computers and 3 laptops, and there are only 4 of us in the house! And the big thing is, not much business is being conducted on any of those. Mine mostly and that is one of the laptops. Being a writer, I use my laptop for writing- business - and socializing and entertainment.
And here we are back to that lovely word, the good old entertainment! Lets analyze, shall we?
We want to be entertained to forget our own reality for a while - stress release.
We want to be entertained to reassure us that our situation isn't all that bad, that there is always somebody worse off than ourselves.
We want to be entertained in such a way that we feel reassured that there is always a way out, that we have choices.
So entertain me already! Don't bore me with the impossible, with facts ans statistics. Allow me to escape reality for a while...
